The film, co-produced by director Vishnuvardhan and Karan Johar, depicts the reserved journey of Sher Shah Param Veer Chakra award-winning Armed Forces boss Vikram Bhadra. The film stars Siddharth Malhotra in a double role, while Bhadra and his only twin siblings Vishal and Kiara Advani play Dimple Seema. Vishnuvardhan is making his Bollywood debut.
Sher Shah (King of Lions) is the nickname of Captain Vikram Bhadra, the brave heart and monk who led India to major victory during the 1999 Kargil War. In 1996, as a simple candidate in the IMA, Bhadra rose to become a lieutenant. In the 13th Battalion Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (13JAC RIF), he subsequently dominated the various posts assigned to him across the country. In the months leading up to the conflict, Batra meets her dear friend and life partner Dimple Seema during her Holi holiday in her hometown of Palampur. Dimple warns him to defend himself and return, to which Bhadra replies that he will return to bring the Indian flag to victory or be associated with it.
