As mentioned before many Hollywood actors and actresses started to form Indian movies, but there are some actors who still do not forget about their roots and go back to national productions. One of the Inland superstars, Priyanka Chopra is a great example of that. Now, an Indian-American star is not only a Hollywood actress but the start of Bollywood movies as well.
The Sky Is Pink, was released back in 2019 and has obtained an IMDB rating of 7.6, that is indeed a superb end result for the melodrama movie. Priyanka Chopra is one of the main characters, who plays the role of the mother of a sick daughter. Along with Priyanka is Fahran Akhtar, who plays the role of the father of the birth defected child. The movies are directed by Shonali Bose.

The Vibrant Theme
Many movie directors and writers have not once used the love theme to address the importance of that subject. It is not only about the movies though, but many industries also use this theme in their services and their offers. The movie has exceeded the expectation of many people. The movie is of drama character and tells the story of the birth defect child, who is fighting against illness together with the family. The whole story is toled after the death of the girl, who is the narrator of her life.
Despite the unfortunate death of the young soul, the movie is still very light as the motive of the movie is to show how strong is the desire to live and how strongly we try to capture every moment of our lives.
Based on a true story, the tale revolves around a couple of Niren Chaudhary and Aditi (Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra) whose newborn girl child Aisha (Zaira Wasim) is diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) and later Pulmonary Fibrosis causing them to spend a heavy amount of money for her treatment or else she wouldn’t survive. The story is told through Aisha’s perspective, at a time when she’s no more.
The movie is about celebrating life in the present, about accepting loss and the portrayal of the depth of different relationships be it man-wife, parent-child or siblings. The tragic tale is narrated with a touch of humor. The heart-wrenching reality makes you emotional but the subtle humor keeps you going as you watch this movie. Some parts of the movie, which I particularly appreciate, include:
The celebration of life – SCID (a rare genetic disorder) that the protagonist suffers from, does not stop her from narrating her tale with happiness. She does not seek sympathy or appear weak emotionally. She is a braveheart, who is able to accept her reality.
The man-wife relationship – Panda and moose as they are fondly called in the movie, share a close bond with each other. Their love runs deep and is seen by actions rather than words. Through the course of their lives, they debate, discuss, and eventually stand by each others’ decisions. The mutual respect that they share for each other helps them. Witnessing them facing the tough times in their lives with an occasional joke on their lips, makes them even more endearing as a couple in the movie.
The parent-child relationship – The center point of this movie, the parent-child relationship is a classic.
Lamenting and loss – The movie ends on an important note about grieving in different ways. The father wishes to move away from his current house and set up his life elsewhere because staying in the existing setup, reminds him of his daughter. On the other hand, the mother wishes to hold on to the materialistic memories of her child. There is no right or wrong here and the movie focusses on acceptance of “to each, his own.”

Main Idea of the Movie
The movie is all about the unconditional love of life and each other. It is sometimes a very sensitive subject as we all want to live close to us people and it is very hard to let them go. The movie perfectly shows the way and attitude it is best to have to save each other throughout the very hard routine of life.
The movie title, “The Sky is Pink”, comes from the episode in the Ishaan’s schools, where she explains that the sky can be colored in any color you want in the drawing. Thus, we get the pink-colored sky in the end.
The moral of the story can be that, no matter how hard it is to overcome the pain we feel, it is important to love life as it is, do everything to maintain it, and do everything with humor and joy. The sky can be your color as well.
